- So I did a proper SMC reset, after I charged my battery to 100% with the original charger, and followed Apple's instructions exactly, on the link above. Please note that your late 2013 MacBook Pro does NOT have a removable battery. So far my MBP (mid 2014 retina 15') hasn't gone into deep sleep spontaneously.

Mar 19, 2020 It depends on the game. In this case, The Sims 4 did great on my 13-inch MacBook Pro. The game ran at 54.9 FPS, which is almost double our 30 FPS target. These results mean you could slightly increase the graphics settings and still get a smooth experience out of The Sims 4. So recently I just installed both The Sims 3 and 4 on my Macbook Pro. I was playing them both on Bootcamp along with The Sims 2 since Sims 4 didn't work on Mac yet. They both worked great on Bootcamp, but it took up too much room. I deleted Bootcamp when it finally came out and now I'm experiencing.

Take a look at the Activity Monitor when opening the Sims game to see if you notice any other apps that may be the cause for these performance issues. A different method you can use to determine if third-party apps are conflicting with Sims is by testing the game in a test user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac. If you're able to use the app without an issue in this test user account, then you'll know the issue is with specific settings or apps in the main account.
